FCC has extended the deadline for comments about the reporting requirements for broadcast licensees (read the Notice of Inquiry MB Docket No. 11-189) to January 27 (read here) and reply comments to February 9, 2012. Reporting requirements stemmed out of the Enhanced Disclosure Docket, an ongoing rulemaking requiring licensees to provide detailed informations about the programming run on stations. FCC is now asking the extent of the filing requirements, starting first with non-commercial television licensees, concerning what they should report about the pertinent public interest issues they have covered on a quarterly basis. Public is free to comment on these propsed requirements through the Commission's electronic comment filing system.
